How to Play Turnbound
Turnbound is a turn-based autobattler with a tile-based inventory grid. Every match has the same six-phase loop — learn it once and the rest of the game becomes about placement.
The 6-phase round loop
- Hero pick — chosen at run start, locked for the run.
- Shop Phase — buy slots, items, trinkets; sell & reroll freely.
- Placement — drag tiles into the 7×6 grid, mind adjacency arrows.
- Coin flip — decides who fires first this battle.
- Auto-combat — tiles trigger top-right → bottom-left.
- Replay & chamber up — review playback, advance to next chamber.
Reading the grid
- Each cell is one tile slot. Items occupy 1+ cells in different shapes.
- Most tiles show arrows indicating which neighbours they buff.
- Empty cells do have weight — they break adjacency chains.
Async PvP, explained
You don't fight live opponents. The matchmaker pulls a saved "ghost" build from another real player who reached the same chamber with the same shop count. You get unlimited planning time. The moment you start the battle, your build is added to the database for someone else to face.
Duel mode & build codes
Once you have a build you like, copy its code and paste it into Duel mode. Friends or community Feature Builds will show up in the matchmaking pool. This is the best practice ground for hard counters.
